You might wonder, is this legal?The answer is YES, in most states. Because the receiver requires drilling to be finished, it is not regulated by the ATF. So you are only purchasing a paperweight so to speak. It’s no different then buying a roll of filament or a chunk of acrylic.
You might wonder, is this safe? The answer is YESMost of the pressure and heat that is transferred in the AR platform is done so within the upper receiver. The receiver we offer our customers is reinforced where the buffer tube screws into it. This is due to this being the primary section that would fail in other designs.
